Owen's 3rd Birthday
Each year I make special cakes for the kids. This is what Owen wanted this year. Bert & Ernie. Appropriate, because he is quite expert on the subject of brothers. (Were Bert & Ernie brothers?) Anyway... here's the pretty cake Mommy made.
So pretty in fact that Owen couldn't resist. Len & I and the Grandma's and Grandpa were in the kitchen getting ready for lunch and talking. Suddenly, in walks Owen from the laundry room. He had color all over his hands and face. We all looked at eachother and said one big "UH-OH".
My first reaction wasn't laughter (poor little guy), but the picture makes me laugh now. Notice the full hand print on Bert's chin. He was really getting into it. I wonder if he was thinking... "It's my cake!"
Oh, well.
As Homer Simpson says, "It's still good. It's still good."
Present time!!!
Grandma makes each of her grandkids their own Raggedy Ann or Andy doll. Owen got his for his birthday!
All grandma's hard work. She sure loves her grandkids.

It's funny how the older kids just can't resist the new toys... even if they are toys for a 3-year-old. :)Batteries required.
This is fun!
CAKE TIME!
CAKE TIME!
See? Told you the cake was still good!
Happy Birthday Owen! :)
